Hamehara episode 2

The scene opens in a meeting room, where Ayaka and Yuya face each other across the table. The air is heavy—neither of them is here by choice. Ayaka’s history precedes her: she was transferred out of her previous department after accusations of harassment toward a newcomer. That detail alone is enough to color how everyone in the room sees her.

Yuya, for his part, has somehow gotten his hands on that damning information. Armed with it, he wastes no time laying into her. He treats the rumors as fact and uses them as a whip, determined to make her squirm. But Ayaka doesn’t simply crumble. Though she’s reduced to tears, she pushes back. Between sobs, she tries to explain what really happened—insisting the story everyone believes isn’t the whole truth. Her voice shakes, but her resistance is real.

That resistance is exactly what Yuya seems to be waiting for. Rather than backing off, he escalates. What began as a verbal lashing turns into something more severe, a punishment meant to break her defiance once and for all. The more she fights to be heard, the harder he comes down on her, until the meeting room becomes less a place for discussion and more a stage for control.

What makes this scene stick is the uncomfortable tension between accusation and truth. Ayaka may have a past, but does a past define a person forever? And Yuya, who appointed him judge and jury?
